Sibongiseni Maseko has nineteen years of experience working in the field of development planning at different levels and scales. He has a very good grasp of development dynamics, trends and patterns, and a good working relationship with a range of stakeholders and role-players in this and the associated fields. Stakeholders include municipalities, provincial government departments, parastatals, Non-Governmental Organisations, etc.

His specific fields of experience include local economic development, preparation of development plans, project /program management, land reform and research. Over the last three years, he has been actively involved in the preparation of a Local Economic Development Integrated Development Plan for Mkhanyakude District. He is presently assisting the district to establish a Section 21 Company to drive the economic development process within the region.

Sibongiseni has also worked extensively in uMgungundlovu District where he has been responsible for managing the implementation of the land reform program, preparation of Integrated Development Plans for at least two of the local municipalities, and is presently part of a team that is tasked with the preparation of a district Public Transport Plan. He has also participated in a number of studies including preparation of a Local Economic Development Strategy for the Greater Edendale Area.
